CONGRESS SPONSORS LEGISLATION TO EXPAND FEDERAL SURPLUS PROGRAM TO VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESSES!
WASHINGTON, D.C.-For the second time in two years, The National Association of State Agencies for Surplus Property has successfully spearheaded the introduction of legislation to support and benefit our war heroes. NASASP persuaded Members of 113th Congress to support and file legislation to enable U.S. Veteran-owned Small Businesses to acquire Federal Surplus Property. By using Federal Surplus equipment, vet-owned business can keep their equipment overhead low and possibly grow their small business, retain or hire more veterans. H.R. 5231 sponsored by Kerry Bentivolio (R-MI) and co-sponsored by Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) was introduced in the U.S. House on July 29, 2014. Senior U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) introduced S.2794 in the Senate on September 11, 2014.

WASHINGTON, D.C.-On August 9th, 2013, President Barrack Obama signed Public Law 113-26, the “For Vets Act of 2013”. August 9th was a historic day for the National Association of State Agencies for Surplus Property (NASASP) and a spectacular day for Veteran's Service Organizations (VSOs) all across the United States.
