Legislation introduced to expand Federal Surplus Program to Veterans
WASHINGTON, D.C.-U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME), Patrick Leahy (D-VT), and Tom Carper (D-DE) and Congressman Dan Benishek (R-MI-01) and Congresswoman Julia Brownley (D-CA-26) have introduced bipartisan, bicameral legislation that would improve veterans groups' access to surplus personal property donated by the federal government. Illinois Donates Hundreds of Surplus Computers to Veterans’ Support Organizations
SPRINGFIELD – State officials announced today that Illinois will donate 400 surplus computers to veterans’ organizations to help provide veterans with greater access to online training and other internet-based employment assistance. The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Director Malcolm Weems and Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) Director Erica Borggren highlighted the benefits of the program to veterans in Illinois.
